From Alex
As a NCCAOM board-certified Acupuncturist, I often work with people living with chronic pain, sports-related injuries, anxiety, depression, autoimmune conditions and digestive concerns. I see acupuncture as a powerful tool to address the body-mind manifestations of stress, and to help my clients get back to a sense of ease.
My practice blends a meridian-based energetic approach with a structural focus on muscle and fascia. Combining traditional acupuncture with trigger point therapy, I work to relieve tightness, tenderness and pain by interrupting the holding patterns that keep the body in a state of dysfunction.
Before studying acupuncture, I received a Masters of Fine Arts in poetry and taught writing at Brooklyn College for 7 years. My background in the humanities makes me uniquely capable of working with the whole person in front of me, without reducing clients to their signs and symptoms.
