Treatment begins with a calibration. We’ll co-create a mode of practice centered on your interests. Hands on, we’ll ebb through relevant states and modalities: clear, stretch, drift, pressure, move, sound, still. Care reaches through the structural tissues and nervous system, supporting release and reintegration. We finish with guided breath, sonic tuning, herbal aftercare, and a ritual to carry home.
Tools: Acupressure (Tui Na), Counterstrain Fascia Technique, Craniosacral, Cupping, Gua Sha, Sonic Tuning Forks
Feels: Targeted, Structural, Release
From Tagan
I'm a licensed practitioner of Eastern Medicine bodywork for over a decade, with a lineage in Japanese and Traditional Chinese Medicine. I specialize in care for musculoskeletal issues and injury, chronic illness, stress, sleep challenges and hormonal imbalance.
My approach to manual bodywork is both intuitive and clinical. Treatment takes shape based on what I perceive through diagnostic pulse taking and tongue analysis, and listening touch. Pushing, pressing, rocking, and rolling, I clear patterns of tension to return the body to a relaxed state of harmony. My work is performed clothed, apart from the targeted areas we will treat with cups and botanical ointments.
Movement is what grounds me. Outside the treatment room, you can find me training and teaching Capoeira Angola and enjoying the outdoors in the Hudson Valley with my family. Here at Pocketbook Hudson, I also offer acupuncture treatments and Studio classes in qi gong and soft acrobatics.
